STOCK - Fifteen Division 3 Stock racers collected Wally trophies for winning classes at the U.S. Nationals on Thursday, Sept. 3. Seventeen division competitors were runner-ups in 29 various classes called to the staging lanes.

Racing was done under a modified format developed by NHRA officials because of the pandemic and the event schedule, which was shortened by two days.

Each class had only two participants in eliminations. The racers qualified by whose vehicles turned the quickest times in the first qualifying session prior to the class run-offs. A total of 128 racers made passes in the session, and the class pairs were set from it.

Last year, when the traditional class-eliminations format was in place, 161 racers made qualifying runs. This year the entry quota of 160 was short by 27 entries. Some racers chose not to attend due to the changed format.

The class winners were Tom Gillam in E/S, Dave Walther F/S, Donnie Beeler H/S, Tommy Turner K/S, Larry Hill B/SA, Jerry Bennett D/SA, T.C. Morris E/SA, Ken Whitcher H/SA, Bob Gere L/SA, Marty Buth O/SA, Jimmy Ronzello FS/B, Cody Herron FS/C, Jeff Taylor FS/D, Gary Summers Combo Stick, and Patrick Downing Combo FS.

The runner-ups were Caleb McFarland in A/S, Ben Wenzel C/S, Craig Saurbaugh F/S, Rusty Hall, H/S, Mike Taylor K/S, Marion Stephenson B/SA, Julie Biermann D/SA, Chris Stephenson E/SA, Todd Kuhn F/SA, Paul Boster J/SA, Eric Campolito K/SA, Chris Utsler L/SA, Bob Utsler N/SA, Justin Soldatt O/SA, Tony Fagnilli FS/AA, Tim Weinzapfel Combo Stick, and Ron Seibenick Combo Auto.
